Audio Systems: Car speaker removal, buick park ave, park avenues

Question
Hello
I am trying to replace my front factory speakers in a 94 Buick Park Ave I was wondering if you would be able to help me. I need some instructions. Thank you

Answer
First, go to:

www.crutchfield.com

and put in the information on your car.  It will guide you to the various speakers that will fit your vehicle.

You must have the right information as some 94 Park Avenues have the speakers in the dash and some have them in the doors and some have them in both places; depends on the model car you have.  The crutchfield site will guide you to the right selections.

Once you know the right speakers you must have the instructionis on removal and replacement.  If you purchase the speakers from Crutchfield they will send with the speakers an instruction sheet and any connectors you need to install them.

If not, you must do it on your own.

Removal of door speakers requires the panel to be removed; they are attached with plastic clips that easily break so you need to think about replacement of the clips when you put the panel back on.  The speakers are mounted in a plastic protection sheet that keeps moisture out so you must make sure the new ones have are installed in the same way. If water gets into them they will be damages severely.

The dash mounted speakers are hard to get out. You will probably have to remove part of the dash to get to them; only if you have the right tools and are very dextrous can you get them out from underneath.

That will get you started.  Then, let me know if you need more.
