Audio Systems: intermittent speakers, rockford fosgate amp, jvc cd player

Question
Hi
I have a problem with my speakers going out. I have a JVC CD player. Sometimes when Im driving and hit bumps the speakers go out but there is still power to the radio and the cd time still keeps running with no sound. Other times just the voice goes out and I hear only bass. Sometimes when I slam my door the speakers go on and off. Could this be a short. what conection will make all my speakers go out and the stereo still be playing? I have tweeters, and 6" speakers in front and 6/9s in the back connected strait to the stereo. and I have a rockford fosgate amp with 2 12" JL Audios and all of them go out

Answer
does your car have a "premium" factory system?  if so there will be a factory amp somewhere, if it has a bad connection it would definatly cause all of your speakers to go in and out all at the same time and your after market subs and cd player would just keep going as if nothing happened. let me know your year make and model and I'll see if it was available with one of these systems if you cant tell.

Good luck!
