Audio Systems: Display on radio of 2000 Grandam, solder connection, grandam

Question
I own a 2000 Grandam and the display on the radio does not come on when I start the car but about 2 to 3 miles down the road it comes back on. What do you think is wrong. If it was a bulb it would just stay off right?

Answer
You are correct and it would be the same if it were a bad fuse.
This is probably just a loose solder connection in the radio.
It is not cost effective to repair it, so I would be going to Walmart or Circuit City to get an $80 replacement.
Pick up a $10 wiring harness adaptor while you are there so you willnot need to cut any factory wires.
