Audio Systems: car stereo system ( amp problem), car stereo system, origonal

Question
I have 10" subs in my trunk. and I have a separate amp to each sub. I also have a 3 fared cap with a distributor block. origonaly I only had one sub wired up becasue I only had one amp and everything worked perfect. I recently got another amp and split the remote wire and used power and ground from the same distributor block that I had used with the single. now neather one work. the power wire is running at least 12V at all times, but I tested it and the remote wire on the second amp is reading 12V as well. I know that the remote is basically just a triger switch and should be running a fraction of a volt as the origonal amp is running. I'm not sure why this is happening. and I hope that it is not running revers.
thanks

Answer
You need to do some basic tests first. Unhook the new amp, and try to get the system working the way it was first. If that fails, work your way "upstream". Is the headunit powering the stock speaker locations? Is there any signal coming down the rca leads? How did you feed rca signal to both amps? Is there splitter Y cables, or do the amps have pass through connections? Get back to me with your homework and I can help more.
