Audio Systems: 2002 honda civic stereo removal, leasing agreement, best buy

Question
I want to replace the stereo in my 2002 Civic.  How do I get the old one out?

Answer
Hi Steve,

Getting a radio out of any car made since the late 80's is a lot of work - it often requires taking apart a good chunk of the dashboard.  I almost always recommend that you buy your replacement from a shop that offers free installation - you may pay a little more than what you can buy at Best Buy, Costco or Amazon.com (or any other online place), I definitely believe the price is offset by having an experienced pro install it for you, because if you damage the dashboard, it will greatly reduce the resale value of your car.

Also note that if it's a lease, you probably can't replace it, as part of your leasing agreement, so be careful there.  Good luck!  Cheers, Wink
