Audio Systems: Car Subs -> Home Theater, car stereo amplifier, car subs

Question
I have two 12" subs for my car, however i dont have and amp yet.  I have recently decided that i would like some massive bass in my room and dont want to spend 500 or more for that kind of power in a home unit.  is there any way that i might be able to hook up and amp and the subs in my room?  or is that not possible.

Answer
its definatly possible but you will have to spend some money to do it.  you either need a very powerfull powersupply to make 13.5 volts dc at whatever amps your car stereo amplifier needs (60 amps or more depending on the amplifier)  or you need a lesser power supply (10-20 amps) and a car battery and you will have to monitor the battery to make sure it doesnt go dead during a movie or something.
Much better than these options is the behringer EP2500 amplifier.:

$329 and free shipping for a home theater amp rated for 2500 watts peak!!  I have seen them for $299 also.  I have 2 of them in my home theater and they are incredible.  HUGE bang for the buck.
See how your ohms of your subs would match up to this amp.  there is also a smaller 1500 watt model but its only like $40 bucks less and much less efficient than this model.
Good luck!
