Audio Systems: Taurus dash panel, audio 30 aps, ford taurus

Question
Hi... I am getting ready to buy an aftermarket stereo for my '04 Ford Taurus.  I've been told it will be expensive because the dash panel is all one piece, including the air conditioning controls.  It's configured already for a 6-disc cd changer in the trunk, but someone told me that if I put one in, I will always have problems with the car after that because they will have to mess with the computer to install it.  Is this true?  What's the best way to accommodate this dash panel?  Thanks so much!

Answer
Judging by your question I think you have already been given the answer, you just don't like it but what you have been told is correct.
The radio incorperated in the dash of the 04 Taurus is more than equal to most 'flash' head units, (bit like my Becker audio 30 APS radio/cd/sat-nav unit, borring as hell but very good at what it does.
As for as the Changer,if you fit the factory one everything should be fine if dealer installed.
Sorry it's not what you might like to hear, but that's the best information I have.
Best of luck, Peter
