Audio Systems: car audio speaker box and right amp for the speakers., kicker solo baric, dual voice coils

hey man i'm droppin 2 kicker solo baric L5 15's in a 2007 dodge caliber. would a ported or enclosed box be better? i'm also thinking about buying a Boss BLX5000 2 channel amp it says 5000 watts but i have never used a Boss amp or seen one. what do you think. also the speakers are
4 Ohm.

What?  Better read the fine print again.  This amp is a 700W dual channel job.  It is a fine amp and will give you plenty of power for the kickers (which are fine products; I like them alot).

The Kickers you mention are 4 ohms, but are dual voice coils.  If you hook them in parallel you will have 2 ohms; the Boss amp should be okey with 2 ohm load.  So they say. I have never quite trusted an amp running hard with a 2 ohm load, but nowdays the amps are getting more reliable.  So, if you don't drive them too hard for long periods of time, should be okey.

I don't have much experience with BOSS, either, but it is a reputable brand.

Kicker has been around along time and these people know what they are doing. If you like the sound of them, you can trust it to be a good product.
