Audio Systems: CAR STEREO TO 110 AC, computer power supply, stereo head unit

Question
I WAS WONDERING WHAT I NEED TO HOOK UP A CAR STEREO HEAD UNIT TO MY HOME OUTLET(110AC). I HAVE SEVERAL UNITS AND WOULD LIKE TO HOOK UP ONE IN THE GARAGE INSTEAD OF BUYING A BOOKSHELF SYSTEM. JUST WONDERING WHAT TYPE(AND SIZE) CONVERTER I WOULD NEED AND WHERE TO GET ONE. I WOULD ONLY BE RUNNING TWO SPEAKERS(MAYBE 70 WATTS MAX FOR EACH SPEAKER).

THANKS FOR THE HELP

SCOTT

Answer
sure,  I love using car audio equip indoors,  in fact my home theater's eq is from car audio!
My all time favorate power supply for this is a computer power supply.  some people usually have an old pc laying around or you can just buy one cheap.  there are several power supplies that are prefab solutions and there arent wires all over the place but these are very expensive and the computer power supply is cleaner power and in most cases more current for much less money.
You will have to cut a few wires and splice and when you're done there will be alot of extra wires coming from it but if you dont mind that let me know and I'll tell you how to do it.  if you want a prefab solution instead let me know.  computer power supply is going to be anywhere from free (if you have one) to $60 for major overkill.  the prefab solutions usually start at $60 ish just to give you an idea.
