Audio Systems: blown 12volt fuse ???, cigaret, blown fuse

hey man i was just hooking up my neons through my car cigaret thing (12volt) and when i pulled it out my headunit turned off and it will not turn back on, neither my cigaret lighter put out any power. can you tell me whats hapend? i think its a blown fuse and have checked power to head head-unit and seems to have no 12volt electricity running through to it, to power it on. i have checked fuses under bonnet aand under steering wheel and they same to be ok. can you please help me?

You can check in the in-line fuse to the stereo, but if the lighter's out (and everything else power's up ok and the car will start) I would strongly suspect that it's a fuse.  Try double checking - especially by swapping out the lighter/head unit fuse with a new one.

If that doesn't work I might suggest you re-direct your question to one of the other experts in this category with more experience on car electrical systems (such as Kelly or Garry) - I'm just a lowly scientist.
