Audio Systems: car stereos, car stereos, electrical components

Question
I have always had problems with my car stereo. It works fine, until the motor is turned on, then I get alot of feedback(?) through the speakers until the motor is turned off again.
Do you know what I can do to eliminate this problem?
thank you
dave

Answer
I need a better explanation.  Feedback is usually defined as when a signal from an output gets back into the input. A typical example is when the microphone is too close a loudspeaker and it sets up a howling condition.

Is this what you are getting? Or do you mean interference from the electrical components of the car getting into the audio?

If it is a question of noise intererence you may need to put arrestors or filters somewhere in the system; as well as improve all the grounds.

Let me know more so I can answer the question; be a specific as possible in describing the effect you are getting.
