Audio Systems: tape deck problems, mazda miata, vw gti

Question
So any tape adapter for my ipod will not work with my radio?  My old car's tape deck work just fine (96 VW GTI).  Why would they make a tape adapter that doesn't work on "most radios"?

I have a '96 Mazda miata with the optional factory AM/FM/CD/Cassette stereo.  I just bought it used and
want to use the tape deck to play my ipod in my car. The problem is that it will EJECT MY TAPE adapter after a few seconds or minutes (always a different amount of time).  When this happens it automatically turns off the entire stereo.  Any ideas what can be done to fix it?  I believe that panasonic makes this factory stereo.  thanks!

hello:
nothing can be done there is nothing to fix
the radio sees that the tape is not moving or that the tape broke or getting stuck and it ejects the tape and turs of the unit
you are going to damage the radio by putting that plastic fake tape in there
sorry that is how this radio and most of the radios work

Answer
the problem is not the adptors when they made that it was a way rto get input in to the radio
the radio was made to play tapes only not fake plastic adaptors
most owners manual tell you to play normal tapes only they are 20 or 22 minutes per side  they tell you not to play 90 120 minutes tapes because it will damage the radio   this palastic tape that you have it never stops and the motor from the tape dek is always spining
