Audio Systems: wire short, fuse boxes, alpine cd

Question
i have a 2002 eclipse. i just put a brand new alpine cd player in it and i accadently touched the main power to the deck to a ground.  it didnt have power any more and i checked all of the fuses.  i decided to try start my car and i could not start it, just turn it over.  i looked into it and there is also no power to the fuel pump so i was wondering if you have any suggestions or may know what the problem is.  wether it be a short somewhere or a relay or ecu im not even sure because we couldnt even get the computer to work on the car at a local car shop.  thanks

Answer
Propably just blew a fuse that also runs the ECM. Check every fuse in both fuse boxes (cab and engine compartment) with a multimeter. Pull each one out, check continuity, replace, etc... If you don't have a multimeter, you could use a test light, just check both sides of each fuse for power with the key on. The fuse that runs the ECM is usally lower amp rating. Be aware that you may have blown multiple fuses. If all this does not help, the ECM may be damaged.
