Audio Systems: hz tones, jl audio w7, hz tones

Question
what do you think the best hz levels are for 10 inch woofers?  ive got a pair of jl audio w7 10's running off a jl audio 1000/1 amp and a single f cap, all tapped into the stock head unit.  my highest db rating in spl comps is a 140.2db, but i feel i can beat that.  i hit that with a stupid usher song, the one with lil john.  last show i hit a 138.8db, and couldnt get any higher.  it was hot and humid, but still.  i tried verying my hz tones, but couldnt come close to the levels that usher gave me.  what do you think the best range of hz tones are for 10 inch subs?  thanks in advance!  -chris

Answer
On the w7s, the sealed box f3 is 40 hz.  Are you loading them in a sealed or vented box?

In any case, they will produce the greatest output just above 40 hz; probably 45 to 50 hz would be the best yield.

BUT: All 10s are different; fortunately, jl has good specs available and they are well engineered.  Humidity makes a big difference, but temp should not influence so much.

HOWEVER:  Temp will effect the max power out from the amps.  If you have a way of cooling them down that will help; also you got to keep the voltages up on the amps; like throw an extra battery on them.
