Audio Systems: GM sound system and aftermarket HU, buick park avenue, gm sound

Question
factory CD is dead. Looking to update to a CD player that will handle mp3 and wav files. I need to know what my system is.  I installed a JVC S12 using a connector to adapt JVC plug to GM wiring harness.  System has not worked satisfactorily.  Need to upgrade and get system working.  What did you mean about risking system.  Is it possible I have damaged my system? I can find no info to explain what sort of system a Concert Sound system is, for Buick.  Until I know what I have, I cannot make proper replacement.   I have put in several systems in cars over the years.  This Buick is newer than anything I've had, and apparently the sound system is much more sophisticated! I need to understand the system I have so that I can find out how to upgrade it to what I want.  Thanks again for your assistance.

Question -
Ernesto, I have a '97 Buick Park Avenue.  Two dealrers have told me, from the vin# that I have a top of the line 9-speaker system.  Nothing more.  Driver's door speaker grill says "Concert Sount III."  Where can I find out the specs and wiring on the system I have.  I have had a failure of the factoy (delco) CD player, and want to replace it with aftermarket CD.  Using conector sold locally, I can only get front speakers working.  PRo installer told me it was probably an amplified system and would take rewiring the speaker system and losing the center channel.  I would greatly appreciate any links to the info to 1) explain my system to me and 2) explain what I must do to make an aftermarket system aound as It should.  I can do my own work just need the proper info....  Thanks, in advance for anything you can send me!

HI:
THAT IS A VERY GOOD sound system why will you try to install and aftermarquet cd changer and risk the complet audio system

Answer
i don't have any info  on the system i know that there is separate amplifier for the rear and front
and in some vehicles the speakers will work with the new radio but you lose the low frequency
that is because the amplifier drives the woofers in the door
it sounds like the amplifiers are off
plug the old radio again  and just focus on the cables that you are not using on the new installation the plug that you are using for this installation can be missing wires
if there is a blue wire also try to put 12volts to it
also send me your email i will e-mail you any info that i can find
