Audio Systems: cd players, audison lrx, infinity kappa

Question
All of the speakers and the subs (in a q logic box) are already installed in my '96 toyota camry.  currently I am using an old kenwood kdc-mpv619.  I'm wondering what cd player to get, should I be looking at 2v or 4v? if i plan on adding a 4 channel amp down the road would i need a 4v? is it a possible to get a cd player nice enough that i wouldn't ever need another amp?

I currently have two 12" infinity kappa series subs powered by an audison LRX 2.250, infinity 693.7i 6x9's and diamond D661a 6.5 components.  I'm wondering what else I need to complete my setup.  If I don't really care about the system being extremely loud is a 4-channel amp nessecary or would a nice cd player with a built in crossover suffice? also what cd players would you recommend below the 800 dollar range?

Answer -
You did not give the automobile you are mounting them in.

You must go to www.crutchfield.com to find the units that are compatible with your car.  Compatibility includes not only fit (or brackets) and wiring harnesses, but voltage polarity and electrical things.

You should keep the amps and speakers as you have outlined and add a headend unit to your liking.  The kappas are good speakers, but are they box mounted?  If not, they should be.

Go to Bestbuy or CircuitCity or such places and check with the sales people there; they can give you some ideas also.

Let me know more about your decision and I will be glad to help.

Answer
If you plan to add 4 channel capability, better have a 4 channel head unit.

UNLESS:  You just want stereo squared.  In other words, there are many really good sounding systems that are stereo; the back speakers play the same program as the fronts.  This is a very viable alternative.

SURROUND SOUND: in the car is not a very ideal environment due to the small enclosure of the car space and the highly reflective glass windows and such.

AGAIN:  Crutchfield.com is a good place to find a unit that is compatible with your auto.

You have the makings of a terrific auto sound system!  Best wishes,
