Audio Systems: Overheating amp, mosfet power supply, audiobahn a8000t

Question
hi i have just installed a new system recently it sounds amazing, but my only problem is my amp overheats in about 10 to 15 minutes depending on the weather. Here is what i have : Audiobahn A8000T 1600w 1 channel, class  a/b mosfet power supply  intake amp. and running the 2 subs i have running off that amp are 12'' audiofonics ADF 272 1200w-600w RMS. i have everything wired correct i have the grounded wire on a sanded part of my trunk. im thinking the speakers are overpowering the amp and i might have to get a second amp and i dont want to get another amp if there is another way to solve the overheating problem.

Answer
The Audiobahn output rating is 4 ohms.

The Audiofonics woofers you are using are rated at 4 ohms; if you have the in parallel across the Audiobahn amp that presents a 2 ohm load; that would be the reason for overloading and heat buildup.  Could cause damage if not careful.

You can wire them in series and see what you get (that would be 8 ohm load), but in the long run you may want to add another amp to drive the second woofer.

Let me know if you have further questions.
