Audio Systems: 93 Lincoln stereo installation, pioneer cd player, wiring harnesses

Question
I'm putting a Pioneer Cd Player in my 1993 Lincoln Continental.  I hooked up the wiring harnesses and I'm getting power to the deck but I get no sound from the speakers.  I was just wondering if there'e anything special I need to know about this model of a car when installing an aftermarket stereo.

Thanks

Answer
most of the lincoln's were available with "premuim" sound systems which usually means there is an amplifier somewhere.  your old unit had an extra wire that triggered it to turn on.  Your options are
1. to find out which wire that was and trigger it yourself 2. hunt down that amplifier and bypass it
3. run new wires from door speakers to new cd player which will bypass the factory amp.

These amps are known for blowing out all the time so I would suggest bypassing it.
Good luck and let me know how it goes, and if you need any more info please feel free to ask.
