Audio Systems: 2000 Ford Taurus CD changer, rear quarter panel, ford taurus

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus with CD capabilities.  I have a clarion 6 disc changer from a 2002 Taurus and the harness wiring from a 1999 Taurus.
Ive located one of the plugs in in the left rear quarter panel, and one of the other plugs goes to the cd changer itself. I believe that the 3rd plug goes to the stereo. Could the 3rd wire already be partially wired to the trunk of the vehicle, and if so where would it be located? If not would I need to pull the stereo out?

You can only know for sure by tracing out the wires with an ohmmeter and tagging them so you know without any doubt which wire goes where.

You can check the information at www.crutchfield.com to see if the changer and harnass you mentioned are compatible with the 2000 Taurus.
