Audio Systems: 1996 Nissan Bose system, nissan bose, external fuses

Question
Why? There is no place that will find the problem and fix it? How do you replace all the wiring?
Thanks!

Question -
My radio/cd player just stopped working, power to unit and changed all external fuses. I couldn't find the fuse inside the unit, can you help?

Answer -
Unfortuatly the best way to deal with a factory bose system is to gut it all and start over and i mean EVERYTHING!!  speakers, wiring, etc.  I know it sounds crazy but trust me!  about 10% of all the questions I get on this site are from people with these systems and they have problem after problem after problem.  I will be happy to explain why and to help you perform this task if you like.
Let me know.

Answer
Sure I'd be happy to tell you why

First of all, Bose are not all they are cracked up to be.  By the general public they are regarded as a high end sound company but if you go into any audiophile shop you wont find any bose equipment.  the reason is becuase theres much better stuff for alot less money available.  Bose is more of an advertising gimmicky company than a quailty company.  Most of their speakers utilize very poor quailty componenets that wear out quickly.  there are countless websites that offer new surrounds for their speakers and companys that specialize in bose repair (becuase they always need repairing)  bose has been sued neumerous times for reasons like their floor model speakers have larger amplifiers and better technology than the model you can buy.  in other words a bose 3000 floor model may have a 1000 watt amp inside it so when you hear it in the showroom it sounds incredible so you buy a bose 3000 and the one you get only has a 200 watt amp.  the floor model of course says it has a 200 watt amp though.
I could go on and on about bose but there are also reasons why changing one part of a bose system simply wont work.
their speakers are usually 1 ohm speakers which have a much higher current draw than typical 4 ohm speakers to chaning out a cd player or even the bose amplifier that's hidden in the car somewhere wont work so that explains why you need to change the speakers when you change the cd player.  the reason you need to change the wiring is beacuse most of the time the speaker wires dont go to the cd player location like they need to, they go to this bose amp somewhere in the car.  the easiest way to bypass it is to just run new wires directly from the door speakers to the cd player location.
As for a place that will find/fix the problem sure there are places that will do this.  you will most likely spend at least what you could spend on a new system and when they're all done fixing it, its still a bose system.  Most likely it will work for maybe 1 more year and will need fixing again.
Sorry to be so blunt and I dont hate on products unless it's well deserved!  I would take power acoustik products over bose anyday which isnt saying much!!!
I would be happy to help you redo the system as I am helping others on the side to do the same.  Its unfortunate but I truely believe its the best way to go.
