Audio Systems: Ford Speaker Problem, ford taurus lx, blown fuse

Question
I have a 94 Ford Taurus LX and a little while ago I changed out the deck for an aftermarket one that I had sitting around my house. The sound system has worked fine until a few days ago when the speakers just stopped working. I pulled the deck out and checked the connections and everything looked fine. When I turn on the radio the level meters show that it is picking up a signal, but nothing is coming out of the speakers. The complicating factor is that the car came with a JBL premium audio system and the speakers are running through amps in the trunk bolted to the back seat. I don't know much about relaying car audio through amps so could that be the problem? I don't really know what else to do to get some sound back in my car apart from taking it in for an expensive diagnostic but I'm hoping there is a way I can deal with the problem myself.

Answer
Sounds like a blown fuse that powers the amps. Check all the fuses that have power in accessory key position, for power on both pins of the fuse. It's also possible that the amp(s) are dead, and need to be bypassed. This can be easy if the harnesses match, or hard if you have to make your own jumper.
