Audio Systems: Problem with my CD player in my car, component speakers, car battery

Question
I have recently purchesed a new kenwood head unit, KDC-PSW9531, but unfortionately the CD player does not work. The radio works fine, but the CD player seems to switch itself off whenever i try to play a CD, as if it loses all power, and then restarts it's self only to fail again.  I have bought new component speakers but these do not help the problem.  What could be causing the problem? Do i need a new car battery or is it something to do with the wiring.  I know that the head unit works fine as i have tries it another vehicle and it works fine. Thanks for your anticipated help.

Answer
Sounds like your vehicles wires are having trouble providing enough power for the cd function.  First I would check your ground and make sure its tight and not on a painted surface. Next You can run a new wire directly from the battery.  Also there is a switched power wire that is only on when the key is in the on and run positions. You can tap a wire from the key harness or from the cig lighter for this since the ligter usually only works with the key. Let me know if this helps or if you need more.
Good luck!
