Audio Systems: Sony Head unit jammed, sony cdx m600r, sony head unit

Hi there,
I own a Sony cdx-M600R head unit (the one with the revolving front panel). Unfortunately i turned the car off while the unit was still closing, and now the unit will not open or close. It just remains in the same position no matter what. There is also a cd still in the unit which will not eject. I have tried using the reset button, but this has not worked. Any ideas how the unit can be made to reopen or close would be greatly appreciated.

You may have to release all power to the unit.

The only way to do that for sure is to lift the positive terminal on the car battery so everything in the car is dead.

Before you do that make sure there are no security devices or other apparatus that will fail when power is removed.

Otherwise, lift the positive terminal and leave off for a few minutes and try again; head unit should reset all functions.
