Audio Systems: dodge ram box, dodge ram 3500, hand saws

Question
I want to get two subwoofers for my 2004 dodge ram extended cab. is there anyway i could have a box underneath the back seat. if so how much would it cost to have a custom box ordered or built. also how hard would it be for me to build it myself and how could i go at building one?

Thank You

Answer
Box building is quite an art indeed.  To do it right you need to do a fair amount of math to design it.  you will need a table saw (hand saws of any kind wont cut it (no pun intended) and you will need to get it accurate enough so that its air tight inside, not even a pinhole.
Id be happy to help you with that but you need to let me know if you think that you can do that.
Most sound shops will build any size and shape box you want.  before I got into doing my own I paid about $160 bucks for a large box, 2.5' x 2.5' x 1' for 4 12" subs. which isnt a bad deal.  I'd want at least that much cuz Im very anal about it being perfect and I HATE CARPETING!!!
Anyway, I just recently did a job for a Dodge ram 3500 ex cab and I'd be happy to share with you exactly what I put in and the dimensions if you  like.  I had to put larger bolts in the seat to raise it an extra inch which gave more volume in the box.  I was able to put 2 12" Image Dynamic IDQs under there.  the IDQs arnt going to make you be heard from 2 blocks away or anything but they will make for very nice clean low end inside the truck.
Let me know if you want to go further.  maybe send me a private message with your email so we can chat more fequently and in depth.
Talk to you soon!
