Question -
hi mark i have the new punch amp 1000 and i got it hooked up to two memphis 12s and my amp keeps over heating all my wires are t right size and its is grouned the right way im just wonderin why it over heats also it is a class d amp

Answer -
whats the exact model of the amp and the subs.
not to second guess you but when you say it's grounded the right way, you sanded all the paint off around the hole you grounded it too?  that makes a big diff.

Answer
I needed the models of the amp subs. I cannot help much without that
A class D amp is known for runing very cool.  they are more efficient and only waste about 5% of their power as heat.
Instead of telling me that you did it right please tell me what you did. Putting a fan on it is not a good solution, it should not need it so there is something wrong.
What guages of wires are you using for power and ground and did you sand off the paint for the ground?  What are the exact make and models for the amp and subs?
