Audio Systems: 92 vigor stereo removal, google search, japanese models

Question
hey man how are you? sorry to bother you, but i cant figure out
how to take out my vigor's stereo...i cant find the stuff that holds it
in place, and do i have to remove any thing else to get it out?
thanks.. Loyd

Answer
The manufacturers are really clever in hiding all the hooks and clips and popouts that keep the radios in.

Have you tried installdr.com?  IT is pretty good.

http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Acura/PDF/466001.PDF

This may help; it is not the vigor, but the Legend which is very similar. I think the vigor is old enough it is no longer supported by anybody in the business - even though a great car.

There are other forums that may help you - which you can find with a google search.

Hope this helps, but let me know if you need more.

PS: I don't know if the vigor does, but many japanese models have a strut in the back that holds the back end of the radio from vibrating.  One or two screws have to be removed to release it and it's a bugger to get at; you have to stand on your head to get down far enough to find the bracket and the screws.
