Audio Systems: Mitzubishi radio code, mitsubishi service, mitsubushi eclipse

Question
Hi Mark, This is probably a redundant question, but here it is. My daughter has a 2002 Mitzubishi Eclipse. The battery died and once the battery was replaced, well now she has no use of her cd/radio. It requires a code. If I gave you the VIN and radio serial number, would you be able to supply a code or will I be at the mercy of the dealership?  Thanks.

Question:
have a question i have a mitsubushi eclipse. i had put in a new car battery, which reset my radio's security system. i looked in the manual and it gave me instructions. i fallowed them but made one minor/ major mistake it told me to put the car's key in the ACS position. regretably i did not, i had the car on. this allowed me to be able to punch the code in 3 times. but it did not accept it. the manual say to conntate the dealer. but it seems they have not been very helpful. i am very hopfull that youll be able to help me out. do you know a way to reset the security system so i can punch the code in right and get the radio working again? that would be very halpful. thanks for your time.

Answer:
Just leave the radio on for about two hours and it will allow you to insert the code again, if you are sure that you are typing the code right it is possible that the radio is not the original from the car, in such case you will need to buy a radio unlock service (google that and you'll get a lot of them) Mitsubishi service is not one of the best.
