Audio Systems: Invinity Radio 94 jeep Cherokee, jeep grand cherokee laredo, jeep grand cherokee

Hi!
I have a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that came with an Infinity gold package, radio cassetteer. Everything works great but I'd like to listen to CD's instead of cassettes. I changed the factory radio with a Pioneer Cd player, But I've get no sound. Can I bypass the factory amp to get the radio to work on the infitiy speakers the car already has? And how do I do that?

The answer is yes, but the "how do I do that" maybe a horror story.  I have heard bad reports about doing such things in any Chrysler product that has Infinity packages.

But, go to installdr.com and see what you can find by way of diagrams and then check the forums for others frustrations with these changes.

PS: I hope you have just not hooked up the wiring between the amp output and the speaker wires.  You should always make sure they are correct before trying. IF you got the wiring wrong and end up with one of the outputs driving into a dead short you can have a very bad day!

PPS: Is you have a vom or ohmmeter you can easily check the speaker wiring.
