Audio Systems: possible wiring problem, factory speakers, kenwood kdc

Question
i have a kenwood kdc-3025 head unit and just factory speakers but just to stop the HU from shutting off i have to have the bass all the way down cause if i turn it up too loud the HU turns off for a second. and even before it turns off the display dims with the bass in the music. i installed it but it wasnt my first install and i have even taken it bak out and rewired it again. any help would be appreciated just some sort of a starting point

Answer
Use a meter to measure the DC ohms of the speakers.  they should be above 4 ohms.  Some factory Bose or other systems actually have 1 ohm speakers and this will cause a problem like you are having.  you may want to run a power line to the battery for the yellow wire on the cd player.  This can be tricky to do since some cd players use the Yellow as a power wire with the red as a "trigger" to turn on.  Running a power line to the yellow will fix your problem if your cd player works this way. But some use the yellow just for memory and the red for power.  This will be a more difficult fix.  let me know.
