Question -
My system was working fine until I added another set of speakers to it. Now when I try to power it on it flashes on with a click sound and lights up but then goes dead. Did I screw something Up?  What can I do to fix it.  I really don't want to trash it. Will it be expensive to fix?

Answer -
Dear Tanya,

First, disconnect the second set of speakers. Does everything work as before? If not, you may have a problem.

Tell me, what kinds of speakers were the second set? How did you connect them to the Aiwa?

Looking forward to your response.

Kindest regards,

Kevin

The second set was a huge subwhoofer from my sons car!  OOOPs.
No, when I disconnected it, I still had the problem.  Could I have blown an amp or something?

Answer
Dear Tanya,

Oops just about covers it. You didn't tell me how you connected the subwoofer to the Aiwa, so I can't tell what could probably going on.

Try this. Check for any fuses that may be accessed on the rear panel. If there is one, and it's broken, replace it with one of the same value. That should resore power. If it doesn't, or you don't have any fuses, I'm afraid you're going to have to take it in for repair.

My fear is that you may have connected the positive and negative leads of the subwoofer when you connected it to your Aiwa, which would have at least blown a fuse and may have short circuited the power supply.

Sorry the news isn't any better.

Kindest regards,

Kevin
