Audio Systems: wiring a car system power wire., mitsubishi eclipse 2002, philips screwdriver

Question
I have a mitsubishi eclipse 2002 and i am having trouble finding the right spot to run the power wire threw the firewall.  can you help me?  thanks

Answer
Sure, on most cars you can find the car battery under the hood, there should be 2 or more fat wires coming off the positive.  One will go to the starter, one may go to the alternator, but one should go to a fuse block usually under the hood.  that fuse block will have many wires going through a rubber grommet through the firewall or may be mounted on the firewall with the wires going under or behind it through the firewall.  Usually I just poke a hole in this grommet with a Philips screwdriver or something sharp and then feed my wire through.  it usually will pop out down at the pedals or under the glove compartment depending on which side the grommet was in.  Every car is different and I haven’t done a system in an eclipse yet (although I plan to own one someday!)
Let me know if you aren’t finding any of these.  I have friends with this car and I could probably take a look for you.
Good luck!
