Audio Systems: Radio locked, saturn l300, old battery

I purchased  a used Saturn L300 from enterprise car rental
service and recently the battery died. well upon rplacing the
batter the radio locked.  I have taken it to the delear and they
told me that it was fried while triing to jump the old battery. I do
not believe this though because the clock is working and the
theft system gave  a code that is used to get the unlock code
from GM. but the coge that gm gave me did not work. I was then
told someone may have changed the code along the way. Now I
am stuck with out anyway of finding out the unlock code what
can I do?

Replace with a nice aftermarket unit. Saturn radios have always been junk. It may very well be fried, and the lock code may have been changed. In any event, I would not waste my time  with it. Many reputable stereo shops have nice CD units for less than $200 installed. Money well spent in my opinion. Now if this was a Lexus we were talking about, THEN I might suggest doing some work to the deck...
