QuestionWell, the dvd is from an internet dvd rental service, and this is the second dvd of the same movie that they sent me, and both wont play. The other do though, any thoughts?

I have a rca dvd player. When i load one particular dvd, it loads and right before it plays, midway through scren switch it freezes completely up, but it does not do this with any othe dvd. Whats going on? Thanks!

For one reason or another you have a bad DVD. Difficult to say why, but it happens. Hope you kept the receipt. I'd exchange it.

If it were a *different* movie, I'd suggest that it was sloppy handling by the prior renters, one of the chances you take with rental services. However, if it's the same phenomenon with the same movie, that suggests a manufacturing defect in the DVD itself. I'd contact the rental company with the issue before returning it again. My guess is that you wouldn't be the first with a similar complaint.
Now, can you get a copy of the movie that will play through without a glitch? Depends on the production run, if the manufacturer knows about the flaw, and if something was done about it. You may want to rent this movie from a local vendor and see if you have a different outcome. Otherwise, the mail order company will keep sending you the title until one plays.
