Audio Systems: Teac Stereo Question, bass sound, tone controls

Question
-------------------------
Follow up Question. Is that like the rock, Classical, Flat or is that Boosting bass sound?

Answer
Dear Rob,

No, what I meant was that the level of the signal being sent to the tape recorder by the CD player was too high for the tape recorder, causing overload/-saturation and distortion. It has nothing to do with the signal processing modes built in to the unit ("Rock", "Classical", etc.) or any tone control like bass boost. The signal should be sent directly from the CD player to the tape recorder without regard to whatever of those signal processing modes or tone controls that you may have engaged.

However, let's assume that TEAC didn't do that, and whatever you've engaged is affecting the tape recording. Then disengage everything: turn off any signal processing (Rock, Classical, etc.) and turn off any treble and/or bass boost and see what happens.

If that doesn't work and the unit's manual doesn't have any section on recording level, then you'll have to contact TEAC to see how to adjust it.

Kindest regards,

Kevin
