Audio Systems: BMW (Becker) motorcycle radio, bmw k1200lt motorcycle, motorcycle radio

Hi, I have a 2002 BMW K1200LT motorcycle.  While I was detailing the bike (without water)and listening to the cd player the radio switched itself to FM reception.  Later found that I could not control the redio except to turn it "on" or "off".  none of the other controls work.  the radio boots into FM and does not display "BMW" when it starts, as usual.  Perhaps you can help........thanks, JohnB

I won't lie to you i've never seen a radio like that but yes a lot of beckers, the simptoms that you described seems to be a related to a network failure, i don't know for sure but i bet that you have only a "wired remote control" in the front and the radio unit itself is located somewhere else or even splitted. Check for loose or dirty plugs, motorcycles are more prone to that kind of failure due to the exposition to the agents(moisture, heat, cold).
