Audio Systems: CD Player Works Intermittingly, 1998 lexus gs300, lexus gs300

I have a 1998 Lexus GS300, with factory sound system.It is the 6 disc changer in the glove box. The radio, and cassette player all work fine.  I purchased the vehicle used.  The sound system worked fine for about 6 months. It will play a CD, it takes a long time for it to read and then it will stop playing and then start up again. skiiping through the whole CD.  I took it to a dealer, they said it was fine and that the CD'S that I had were dirty.. The Same CD's play on my home system and in other car systems.

Can you give me any suggetions.  I like to listen to music when I ride.

Typical..
The dealer will say that when actually they mean that there is a read error which may be either the laser in the cd  or the cd's you are using.
You good cd's, get an Allsop CD cleaning system and use it often. If that does not fix the problem, it is time for a new system. Eight years is a long time for a cd player to live in a car.
