Audio Systems: Tv and computer monitor combo, antenna connections, samsung syncmaster 150mp

Question
Hello,
I have an application where I need to have a small flat screen that I can play from a DVD player (F connector?) or use as a computer monitor (VGA connector?). I know there are converters or some units made for this....any suggestions on the most equitable way to accomplish this.
Thanks

Answer
Dear Joe,

Not THE Joe Walsh?! "Rocky Mountain Way" Joe Walsh?! YER AWESOME, DUDE!! Okay, sorry. Couldn't resist.

Two approaches come to mind. First, simply use a computer that has a DVD player. Second, search for flat panel monitors that have the appropriate inputs. My Samsung SyncMaster 150MP has both F and VGA connectors and serves as both a PC monitor and cable TV outlet. Yes, it uses an F connector for the cable connection. Although I haven't tried it, I don't see any reason why a connection from a DVD player's ANTENNA OUT to the ANTENNA IN on a monitor wouldn't work. Make sure, however, you use the ANTENNA connections, not the digital coaxial connections. They won't work.

Good luck. And thanks for choosing allexperts.com!

Kindest regards,

Kevin
