Answer
Good thing to do at this stage in its life.
If memory serves me:
1) Remove (2) screws from the base of the dash trim bezel [this is the plastic that covers the radio].
2) Pry down on the (2) tabs located at the top of the dash trim bezel and remove the bezel.
3) Remove (4) screws securing the factory stereo and remove disconnecting all wiring.

Be sure you get an install kit (for that year and make/model) and a wiring harness adaptor, so that it will be securely mounted, look good, and you will not need to cut any factory wires.  Walmart ~$20.00 for the pair.

As to the din tools (uneeded, if memory serves me), try asking a local mobile audio store for a pair. A busy shop will usualy have them laying around after installs and would likely let a pair go very cheaply.
They could be fabricated. Perform a Google Image search for Din Tool for more info.

Good luck.
