QuestionIt's 54 weeks old....Rear projection HDTV monitor, 46PP9302, 46". TV appears to be on, however, there is a squeaking noise coming from the back. It sounds like a belt. No picture.

I see your NO TV REPAIR QUESTIONS stated above, however, I'm @ a loss. Having bought this one @ COSTCO, we're being told to contact Thompson. This is history repeating itself with another device--took MONTHS to resolve issue.

Yes, I really did mean no TV repair questions. They're--quite literally--out of my league. Have you tried Allan Wainwright? He's very knowledgable and very smart. If he can't answer your question, he'll be able to point you in the right direction. Good fellow.
The risk with buying major appliances at Costco (and I would guess Sam's Club and the like) is that they are not "dealers" in the sense that they offer service in addition to the price discount. In fact, the discount represents the difference in service. Yes, you're going to have to deal with Thomson, which I understand can be very trying. You must be in a British Commonwealth or European union country, because in the US, you'd only have to deal with RCA, a little--but only a little--easier.
