Audio Systems: spilled soda cd player works with sub, not speakers, saturn sc2, spekers

Question
I spilt soda on the factory installed cd player first the spekers just crackled now ther is no sound except when the amp is on the sub can be heard. do the speakers need replaced or the cd player? or is there a way to fix it. now one guy said replace the in dash unit is that everything cd player speakers and wires? the car is a 99 saturn sc2

Answer
Yes, the headunit is likely fried.
Just get you a new deck (deck only) at walmart. :)
You can buy a brand new in-dash SINGLE disk cd player that plays mp3 and reads CD-R/CD-RW cd's (up to 256 tunes per cd!), with a mounting kit so it fits the dash opening, AND a wiring harness adaptor (no need to cut vehicle wires) for about $100.00 USD.
You cant come close to that amount of listening time with normal cd's [even using 15 or 20 of them].

The speakers and speaker wiring are more than old enough to mandate replacing them as well. If you are going to spend money on sound quality this is THE place to do it, so get the best ones you can afford.
I zealous (yet careful) novice could do this well needed upgrade.

Email if if you want to pursue this and/or have any more questions.
I hope this helps.
