Audio Systems: Odd Subwoofer sound, bose acoustimass 15, onkyo dr

I have a Bose Acoustimass 15 Series II which is connected to an ONKYO DR-C500 Reciever/DVD Changer.

Okay here is the problem, the Subwoofer makes a very strange, annoying, popping sounds. It sounds like the subwoofer muted then quickly unmuted.

This is very noticable, especially when the reciever, and tv is turned off.

I just want to know what is causing this, and how can i fix it. I re-wired the enitre thing 3 times already trying to fix the problem, but that seems to be hammering on the wrong nail.

If the sub is making these sounds when both the TV and receiver are shut off, you have an issue with the sub. However, because of Bose's unique engineering--everything goes through the Acoustimass module--it's anyone's guess what the problem is. I suggest that you contact Bose for a solution (www.bose.com).
