Question
just bought 95 mustang for my daughter, the 460 was replaced with a pioneer, looks like the dealer just though it in to sell the car, anyway if the car isnt started evey other day the batt. goes dead (new batt) been though the car with a test light, when i pull the main fuse under the hood for the radio a beeping noise comes from under the dash, if i disconect the radio the batt. wont discharge, so im taking it i need to by pass the amp somehow yes , no , maybe, one more, my cobras cd quit working,2nd one iv'e had in it,is it worth fixing or do away with it, thanks

Answer
Robert,

the drain sounds like its the 12volt constant wire crossed with the 12volt ignition wire on the head unit's harness this will cause the head unit to suck power from the battery all the time... try running new wires to the unit , 12v constant , 12v ignition from the fuse block and a new ground see if that cures your problem, ... now about the cd unit in most cases it doesnt pay to have them repaired, you can pick up a new aftermarket unit for a few bucks more than you can pay the guy down the street to rip into the old one and see if he can do some repairs ... hope this helps you out

thanks
