Audio Systems: rear speaker removal 1989 buick, small screws, gm cars

I need to replace my rear speakers.can't get them out. the book says to remove them from trunk side by removing screws.No screwsand if there were the opening is to small to pull them through.      Thanks   carl

 i'm not familer with this specific vehicle so i'm very limited to what i can tell you ... most cars rear speakers can be accessed by removing the top cover which is the carpeted piece this is usually held in with a few small screws from the trunk or some simple plastic pop clips ... since you already have a book for this there must be something your overlooking... try useing some good lighting in the trunk to get a better view of where things are located and also look for a way to remove the top panel if possible .... very sorry i cant do anything more , you might try talking to one of the other experts that specialize in older model GM cars and restoration to get some tips .. thanks
