Audio Systems: Zenith DVD, progressive scan mode, scan option

I accidently pressed the progressive scan option on my dvd player, now I can't get ot to go off. The screen remains blue with progressive scan mode printed on it. What do I do to get it back to being able to see the picture?

What does the user's manual say? With most toggled options on any TV, if you hit the same switch a second time, it reverses whatever you invoked the first time. If this was brought up via a menu, then reaccess the menu and select the appropriate alternative.

If none of this works, simply disconnect the DVD player from your TV and unplug it. With the power cut, the settings should revert to the factory defaults. This last solution is one that should rarely be used--not because you'll harm anything, but because it's darned inconvenient. Better that you learn how to turn the progressive scan function "on" and, most importantly, "off".
