Audio Systems: Subaru 6CD stereo wont shut off, subaru forester, repair option

Question
I have a 2001 Subaru Forester.  It has a 6 disc cd changer and a cassette player.  None of the control buttons will work.  It won't change anything.  It won't turn on or off (except when the car is turned off), it won't change stations(no tuner), volume, or device selection.

I have to pull the fuse to turn the thing off while the car is on.  

Should I repair or replace?

 before we condem this system disconnect your battery for about 10-15 mins to reset everything .. then see where you are .. if still nothing i doubt there is a repair option really only thing to do is replacement.. but take it to a local audio shop let them check everything for you just to make sure but it sounds like a major error in the system's either wiring or main unit... sorry i cant do more but i hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
