Audio Systems: Intermittent power on radio, salvage yard, car harness

I purchased from a salvage yard a 99 delco AM/FM CD radio for my 98 camaro. Played well for a year. After a year it started to be intermittent. First thing in the morning power goes off & on. As I'm driving to work. Then after a few minutes it stays on. Checked connector for lose wires, none. (I reinstall the original cassette radio back in the car. Radio works well. This radio is not intermittent.) Do I have a car harness problem or radio. Here is another one, I noticed if I take the AM/FM CD radio out for a time. Then install it back in the car. It works good for a day or two.

 this is most likly a short or loose connection inside the cd unit, if your really stuck on trying to keep the deck you can try a small electronics repair shop to see if they can take a look and make a repair, but the best tip i can give you is just pick up an aftermarket head unit, dash kit and adapter hanress at your local radio shack , circuit city, best buy ect... even wal-mart has them .. and you can buy one to fit your wants and budget.. hope this helps you out if you need anything else just let me know
