Audio Systems: Theft Lock Function, 1997 chevrolet cavalier, chevrolet cavalier

I have 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier.  I'm experiencing problems with the Theft Lock function.  Sometimes, when I try to start my vehicle it won't.  The theft function light begins to blink.  I've taken it to numerous car maintenance shops but no luck.  Please Help

 theftloc on most lower end cars such as s10's and cavaliers the theftloc is just a feature on the head units to prevent theft, i have a 2001 S10, your problem sounds electrical but i dont think its related to your theftloc on your stereo... have  any of the shops you took it to ever put it on a diagnosis computer to check for trouble codes ? , if they havent advanced auto can do one for free its a very simple test and not as through but like i said its free you might give them a try, but i would suggest taking the car to a reputable shop for a good through check up of the wiring/starting/ignition systems... sorry i cant do anything more but if you need anything else let me know
