Audio Systems: 2003 ford excursion cd player, ford excursion, stock system

I have a 2003 Ford Excursion stock system with dvd player.  I attempted to eject a cd from the cd changer a cd eject error message appeared.  The cd was visible and I was able to get it out but now the cd player does not work.  I just keeps saying cd eject error.  The access door is also in the open position.  What's the best action to take to fix this problem?

  it could be a number of things from the simple to the complex, most likly its an internal failure in the unit, best advice i can give you is to thumb through your owners manual see if they offer any troubleshooting for the unit, then disconnect your battery for about 10 minutes this will reset the computer which might "jumpstart" the unit, if none of these pan out, i would suggest taking it to a qualified local shop for an inspection of the problem.. hope this helps you out wish i could do more
