Audio Systems: Rever Jumpstart, cd mp3 player, todays vehicles

Question
Hello,
I need your help with something I experienced. My car battery died and I called in a technician to jumpstart it. He tried to connect the incorrect polarity (reverse jumpstart) but then corrected it. This blew off the max fuse which I replaced but now the CD\MP3 player is no longer working. Isn't the max fuse supposed to protect everything?

Is it also true that I should expect more electrical problems in the future?

Thanks Rahul

Answer
I offer advice and consultation, so since I have no experience with that problem, I have to say to ask the service people that came to jumpstart it about it (as well as whomever installed it, if it is aftermarket unit).
*You might check to see if the unit has a reset button. If it does, push it for 3-5 seconds.

Although the problem may not be from jump starting it, you really should consider the delicate nature of todays vehicles when jump starting in the future.

As to future problems, I do not know. But if you let people hook up stuiff incorrectly, the likelyhood is very high.
