My radio switches from AM to FM1 to FM2 to FM1 to AM without any selection. Sometimes it will remain on AM for 10 minutes, sometimes 30 seconds before it starts to flip. All this has occurred since my last service where I had both batteries changed

It is near impossible to tell you what is wrong from the situation you are in (from here).
Try any reset buttons it may have.
If you cannot find one, try unhooking the fuse to the radio and reinserting it.
If this fails to help,I would have the unit benchtested and fixed and or replaced.
It does not sound like anything that would be caused by changing the batteries.
